Cassandra Troost (NL, 1999) believes that everyday details can be seen as extraordinary when looked at with curiosity. For example, a tree, a corner or a jar in her studio could all be inspirations to her. The wonder and admiration she feels for these everyday scenes is what she tries to convey in her work. In her paintings, she does this by exploring textures and brushstrokes. In her drawings, she shows reality as she perceives it.
